Chloe East is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Colorado Boulder and an affiliate of the Colorado Population Center. She studies how U.S. safety net, social insurance, and immigration policies affect outcomes for both foreign- and U.S.-born populations, with recent work examining the real-time labor market effects of ICE enforcement activity. Her research has been published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Labor Economics, and PNAS, and cited by outlets including NPR, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Politico. She is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a Non-Resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution, and a Research Fellow at IZA. East earned her Ph.D. in Economics from UC Davis. She served as faculty for the 2026 Summer School at the Global Migration Center.
