Kevin Shih

Kevin Shih is an Associate Professor of Economics at UC Riverside, where his research focuses on labor economics, immigration, and education policy, particularly the effects of skilled-worker visa programs like the H-1B and international student migration on the U.S. labor market. His work has appeared in the Journal of Labor Economics, the Journal of Public Economics, and the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, among others, and has been covered by outlets including Vox, The Atlantic, and Inside Higher Ed. He is also a Research Fellow at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics and a Nonresident Scholar at Rice University's Baker Institute. Shih served as faculty for the 2026 Summer School at the Global Migration Center.
