A large part of the heated debate on immigration is centered around the effect of immigrants. Do they contribute to growth, stimulating the dynamism of the American economy and fill jobs where there is shortage of workers and help the economy adjust? or do they displace native workers and “take away jobs”? Peri will present some important facts and the consensus among economists on the economic impact of immigrants and will specifically discuss the economic implications of some proposed immigration changes such as the repeal of DACA, the decrease of legal immigrants and the increased enforcement and deportation.
