Desai and coauthors published an article examining the global associations between cutaneous and mucocutaneous leishmaniasis (CL/ML) cases, conflict intensity, and environmental factors from 2005 to 2022, finding a positive correlation between higher conflict levels and increased CL/ML risk, particularly during intense violence.

Lessons From Colombia's Response To Venezuelan Forced Displacement

GMC affiliate Raquel E. Aldana and coauthors published an article highlighting how Colombia stands out among low to middle-income countries for its efforts to integrate 2.5 million Venezuelan refugees. The article emphasizes Colombia's 10-year temporary protection program, which has granted legal status to over a million Venezuelans, offering a model for a more humane and welcoming refugee response, in contrast to wealthier nations that tend to restrict refugee inflows despite hosting far fewer refugees.
