Paths to Citizenship: Gendered Trajectories & Differentiated Choices

This FRI seed grant team will present a theoretical framework that disaggregates the citizenship decision between the choice to emigrate, the choice to stay in the host country rather than return and the choice to naturalize. They employ data generated from 16 interviews from four different immigrant nationalities to explore how conditions of women in countries of origin condition the choices on the path to citizenship.
