Kevin Johnson awarded Outstanding Achievements in Law Award by the Centro Legal de la Raza

During its 46th Anniversary Gala, the Centro Legal de la Raza awarded Kevin R. Johnson, Dean of UC Davis School of Law, its Outstanding Achievements in Law award. This award recognized Dean Johnson's continued leadership and contributions to the Latino community.

Dean Johnson, also a Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law, and Professor of Chicana/o Studies, joined the UC Davis law faculty in 1989 and was named Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in 1998. He became Dean in 2008, and has taught a wide array of classes, including immigration law, civil procedure, complex litigation, Latinos and Latinas and the law, and Critical Race Theory. In 1993, he was the recipient of the law school's Distinguished Teaching Award. He continues to publish and present extensively on immigration law and policy, racial identity, and civil rights.
