GMC director Giovanni Peri wrote a chapter about immigration policies with Anna Maria Mayda in the book The Economic Consequences of The Second Trump Administration: A Preliminary Assessment. The chapter assesses how the multitude of Executive Orders by the Trump administration paired with intensified enforcement and unfriendly work conditions towards skilled immigrants will lower immigration rates in the United States. This decline will likely reduce US GDP and the per capita average income for US citizens.
