Immigration and the Economy

Immigration promises to be a key issue in the Presidential and Congressional campaigns. Candidates from both parties favor limits but differ on the extent of restrictions. Immigration is important for many sectors of the economy. Concerns arise, however, from the possible adverse effects on employment and wages among the native-born.
