Edward Taylor's study conducted in Uganda was recently featured in a World Food Programme press release, which was then distributed to BBC World, The Independent, and even news outlets in Africa and Turkey. This study has found that humanitarian assistance for refugees creates significant economic benefits for the local economy, and these benefits are greater when the assistance is in the form of cash transfers and land for agricultural production.
