Humanizing Deportation Photography on Exhibit

Photographer/activist Leopoldo Peña is among the artists whose work is being featured through the end of the year at Oakland’s Asian Cultural Center in the group exhibition Transgressions on Humanity: Walls, Border Detentions, and Prisons. Leo Peña, as the project photographer for Humanizing Deportation, has taken black and white portrait photos of some forty community collaborators of the project, which can be viewed on its webpage. His engaged art focuses on issues of immigration and modern environment. A public reception of the exhibition will be held on November 20, 6:00-8:00 pm.
