Has the drop in immigration contributed to inflation?

GMC director Giovanni Peri was featured on Marketplace. In talking about the decline of immigration in the US, they cite Peri noting that 80% of this number would be in the work force but that, “'We were missing 1.7 million immigrants in that working age group.'”
