Giovanni Peri, Kevin Shih, and Chad Sparber for Reason

Last week, a paper by GMC Director Giovanni Peri, GMC Visiting Scholar Chad Sparber, and former GMC Graduate Student Affiliate Kevin Shih showing the impact of immigration on the United States' aggregate productivity growth was featured by Reason magazine on an article discussing immigration reform as means for the US to outpace China's economy.  In the study they found that an inflow of foreign STEM workers accounted for 30%-50% of the aggregate productivity growth in the U.S. between 1990 and 2010.
